Memorial Day-after

So it is the day after Memorial and besides being extremely spent and dehydrated, I am very excited. This Friday is the 48 Film Project. We are given 48 hours to complete a 4 minute film. Everything must be Scripted, Filmed, and Edited within the allotted time.
Here is what our weekend is going to look like.

Kickoff

Date: Friday, May 29th
Time: 6-7pm
Place: The Village Pourhouse, 64 Third Avenue at 11th Street, NYC 10003

This is where we meet up with the management team behind the 48 hour film project. They will give us our 'surprise elements' such as, genre, line of dialogue, prop, or character.

From there we take the next hour or 2 to drive back to L.I. and write our story.
Once the story is written we then film all through the night.
We are used to 24 hour film festivals in which case we have to stay up all night anyways.
Then comes the FUN part. RJ has to edit the film while I write the music. I have seen RJ edit for 24 hours straight, it isn't pretty.
If all that goes good then comes the:

Dropoff

Date: Sunday, May 31st
Time: 6:30-9:30pm (by 7:30pm to be on time!)
Place: The Village Pourhouse, 64 Third Avenue at 11th Street, NYC 10003

The cool thing about this competition is that it is much earlier then the usual ones. Generally we are waiting till 9 or 10 to get our info. which means we can't start filming till 11 or 12.
Plus the delivery time is setup differently. Generally if you make it after a certain time its late and not eligible for screening or prizes. At this competition you have a window of time to get it in on time, and a window of time where its late.

If you are interested in coming to the screening here is the info that we have thus far.

Premiere Screenings

Date: June 5-6, 2009
Time: 6:15pm, 8:30pm
Place: NYU's Cantor Film Center
